Favorite Quotes (Part 1)
Part 1
These are a collection of some of my favorites quotes. I’m one of those people who reads inspirational quotes on Facebook and Instagram and my eyes CAN NOT roll farther back into my head. 🙄🙄🙄
But every once in a while I read a quote that resonates with me, and I thought I’d share some of them with you along with a few stories on how they fit my life. I’ve never read a quote and had it CHANGE my life, but I’ve definitely read a few that hit close to home.
Loyalty
“There’s something wrong with your character if opportunity controls your loyalty.”
Author Unknown
This is one of my favorite quotes because it exemplifies something that I hold so close to me. There are so many examples I’ve experienced in my life. In business this seems to happen more often than you’d expect. Loyalty is hard to find and I’ll tell you that if you find someone loyal, hang on to them. Character is something that I focus on daily because I want the record of my actions and words to be my legacy.
Treating Others
“Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.”
Author Unknown
Here’s another quote about character. It’s one of my favorite quotes and I love it because it’s so true. I think it’s important to be a good human to everyone you cross paths with. Especially those who can do nothing FOR you.
Your Story
When writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen.
Author Unknown
This is one of my favorite quotes because I live my life by it. I wrote a blog titled Words of Wisdom, that talks about taking taking control of your own life. Nobody gets to write your story. I love this message.
Courage & Patience
“If life were only filled with joy, there would be no need to learn courage and patience.”
Lynn Brownback
This is one of my favorite quotes, because it’s written by one of the wisest persons I know . . . my mother. The world isn’t filled with just joy, and we can celebrate that because we learn both courage and patience. Wise words from a wise lady.
Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
“Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”
Author Unknown
This is an incredible example of perseverance, growth, and reinvention. I don’t have much more to say than the image illustrates itself.
“If you don’t understand the past, you’re unlikely to get the future. But if you’re bound to the past, you’ll never get there with anything that you’re proud of.”
Dr. Amar G. Bose
The Past
This is one of my favorite quotes because it addresses understanding your past to improve your future. Understanding why you do what you do, helps shape with you’ll do in the future. So eloquently stated.
Who You Are
“Who you were, who you are, and who you will be are three different people.”
Author Unknown
This is such a powerful quote about personal growth. I can attest to the validity of this quote.
Live
“Live the way you want to be remembered.”
Author Unknown
This is one of my favorite quotes because it’s the way I live my life. Not only as a human being but as a father. I want my legacy to be as a good man, good friend, and good father.
People
“Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about other people.”
Author Unknown
This is such a great quote and I think you could place your friends in one of these categories (hopefully not the last one). Surround yourself with “great people”. You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with. 🙂
Monsters
“As a child, I never imagined that all of the real monsters in the world would be humans.”
Mobeen Hakeem
For my last favorite quotes, I chose this one because it says a lot about us as humans. Be the “good guy” and not the monster.
The End
I know this blog wasn’t as “meaty” as some of my past ones, but I hope some of these memes and quotes resonate with you. I have a lot more and I’ll share the next 10 in a future blog.
Thanks for reading!!
